Hot Trends for Cooler Weather

1. All Suited Up
Menswear isn’t just for men anymore. Boxy silhouettes, lapels and traditional suiting patterns will add a new dimension to your closet to keep your wardrobe on trend and moving forward. This black and white herringbone cardigan can be dressed up or down to take you from the office to Happy Hour, and will keep you looking chic and feeling cozy while you make the transition.
2. Turn up the [Sleeve] Volume
You won’t be able to step outside your door this season without spotting fun sleeve details everywhere! From big blouson sleeves, reminiscent of the Jane Austen days, to layers of ruffles inciting you to merengue and salsa dance wherever you find yourself, and everything in between. Emphasis on the sleeves allows lots of room to play around with accessories, yet they’re not necessary because the sleeve details speak volumes.
3. Neck Detail
You may have noticed lacing and cut-away details this past summer and this trend continues into the fall. We’re loving the neckline detail found in these two sweaters: a crossover twist lattice and choker. These sophisticated takes on the trend can’t help but accentuate your face—your best feature! Simple accessories are all you need to pull off this effortless trend that will be sure to turn heads.
4. Layer with a Vest
Nothing says “fall” like the go-to vest you can’t wait to wear. We love how versatile a vest can be. You can pair it with a variety of different tops like a long sleeve or ¾ sleeve t-shirt, a button-down chambray shirt or a lightweight sweater for those chillier days. A vest is also the perfect pairing for the “sleeve detail” trend, helping complement and highlight its unique elements.
5. Distressed Jeans
A distressed pair of jeans is a staple this season you don’t want to be caught without. They’re perfect for a fun night out or coffee dates and errands on the weekends. The distressing and holes will add a fun, modern and trendy element to any outfit. Choose from denim, black, your favorite color or all the above!
6. Rich Jewel Tones
One of our favorite aspects of the season is the influx of deep, rich jewel tones in fashion. Adding beautiful hues of reds, oranges and teal will keep your wardrobe especially new and fresh. Try sweaters that have a tweed yarn, combining slight variations on a color, to add an interesting and exciting element to these gorgeous tones.
7. Dressed Up + Casual
Like menswear being only for men, gone are the days of rigid dress codes. Embrace the trend of “high-low dressing,” when you combine a sophisticated piece with a more comfortable, casual counterpart. Pair a comfy, cozy sweater with dress pants and loafers, or inversely a blazer and button-down with your new distressed jeans and sneakers. This will keep you looking stylish and fashion-forward while making your closet infinitely versatile.
8. Shoes
This season we’ve seen a resurgence of trends from the 90’s, for better and for worse, and that trend carries through to footwear as well. We’re excited for the comeback of the “slide shoe.” This trend has shown itself across many styles of shoes: sneakers, mules, and flats. They’re easy to wear and add a chic touch while remaining effortless. The bootie remains in style but with an updated pointed toe and think chunky when it comes to heels. Square or block heels are hot this fall.
